What an absolute belter of a hurling match we had here this evening in a sunshine drenched Tadhg Downey Park.
This game had it all, speed, skill, energy and commitment. Both teams went toe to toe throughout the match, displaying hurling skills of the very highest quality.
The Cocas lads were always ahead in this match, and Celbridge kept pace throughout, but the home team kept any waves at bay, held their nerve and never lost focus.
It was a draw match with 5 minutes to go, the tension was palpable, but Cocas dug deep and found that extra gear, converting 3 stunning unanswered points in the dying minutes to claim a well deserved victory.
To a man, the Cocas lads gave it their all.
Commiserations to Celbridge GAA CLUB who played a super game, and showed their class and quality both on and off the pitch.
It’s on to the next one for our lads… away to Wolfe Tones on 10th May.
