A very tough day at the office yesterday. Everyone involved is bitterly disappointed but the girls weren’t found wanting for effort and determination. In a game like yesterday it would be very easy to blame outside factors for a heart breaking one point loss but in reality we just came up short on the day and Maynooth GAA were deserving winners in what was a physically demanding, tense game from the start. We wish them well in their Leinster campaign. No doubt there are plenty of sore bodies on both teams today.

To our Cappagh girls, what a year it has been. Things were not looking promising at the beginning of the year but it goes to show what perseverance and commitment to the cause can do to turn your luck around. You are a credit to the club and we’re so proud of you all. Particular mention to all of the girls on our panel who have come up from underage, you have brought new life to the team and we are delighted to have you.

To our management team of Alan Berry, Angela Boland, Orla Collins, Hazel Mulligan and Regina Gorman, thank you for the mammoth effort and huge amount of time you gave to this panel. The future looks bright for Cappagh Camogie and two girls who will play a big part in the future of the club are our mascots from yesterday, Breffní Nolan and Síofra O’Cuill.

A big thank you to Connollys of Ballagh for hosting us last night and especially to Brother Josh band who helped to lift our spirits.

Finally, we are very appreciative of all in the club who made the effort to come support us yesterday, sorry the result was not a better one🥹 Here’s to a well needed rest, a good winter and a successful 2023!
