Our Adult Hurlers were in action last night against a strong and experienced Wolftones side.
Our lads gave an excellent account of themselves once again, and although they didn't manage to end with a win, can be very proud of yet another strong performance in this "learning curve" they are on for adult hurling.
The first half was a tight enough affair, with the sides exchanging points with some super play, determination and skill. At halftime the gap was just a goal, and it was all to play for in the second half.
But Wolftones showed their experience and grit, as they nicked two quick goals in a matter of minutes to put some distance between the sides. Cappagh fought back with some fine scores, but in the end, the home side just had that little extra to see out the win.
We cannot be more proud of these young hurlers, as they gain invaluable experience at this level. Over the last few matches, they have done themselves and the club very proud, going toe to toe with some very experienced and long-standing teams, and there is no doubt that the lads have learned a lot and will only get stronger.
Well done to all involved, players and mentors, who continue to dedicate themselves unequivocally.
The future of hurling is bright for the club, with some great talent and keen hurlers coming up through the underage teams, and it is great to have our young Adult Hurlers paving the way. Well done lads. The journey has only begun!
Thanks as ever to our great sponsor , Joe Mallon Motors
