Big News…….

Over the last few weeks the fundraising committee have been working very hard to produce our 24 Hour Walk.

The event has been a great success, we got amazing weather, it was great opportunity to catch up with neighbours, friends and other club members that we maybe hadn’t seen in a while.

We kicked off with the reunion of the founding members of the Camogie Club on the 50th Anniversary of the Camogie section. Photos and report on that to follow…..

Lots of chats, cup of teas and laughs were heard throughout the 24 hours.

Now that all the money is in, we are delighted to confirm that we have raised €39,500 with a profit of €37,800

As part of the development in Newtown of the New Tadgh Downey Park we have heavily invested in our fantastic facilities and this fundraiser allows us to pay our annual bank loans as well as build our stand alone gym which will be a great facility for all the adult players today and in the future.

Huge thanks to the fundraising committee, the team who prepared the grounds, person who donated on sponsorship cards, businesses who offered sponsorship, the team who manned the tea’s station throughout the 24 hours and each and every Walker who took part!!

The Executive of the club never take for granted the support we get from our members, supporters, neighbours and friends in the community.

Our investment is now standing at €1.7 million and we have now just near €60,000 debt outstanding. What an amazing achievement to all who have worked so hard over the last number of years and contributed to the fundraising.
