On Friday night 29th September our Joe Mallon Motors sponsored Senior Reserve Footballer will play Athgarvan in the Senior Reserve G Championship final.

Our Reserve Footballers have already had success earlier this year when defeated Milltown in the league final and on Friday will attempt to bring the championship title to the club, and complete a rare double. This will be a big ask against a free scoring Athgarvan team.

The team have played some excellent football in the championship todate, beating Grange by 0-11 to 0-05, Maynooth by 5-16 to 1-06 and Milltown by 2-15 to 1-11. In the semi final the team played Milltown again and were victorious on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-06.

Fridays opponents Athgarvan have been at least as impressive in their games todate, defeating Castlemitchell on a scoreline of 4-18 to 1-07 , Grange by 4-15 to 0-08 and Maynooth by 3-18 to 2-07. In the semi final they played Grange again and had an impressive 1-11 to 0-03 win to qualify for the final.

The final has the makings of a great game with both teams in fine scoring form.

We are calling on our Cappagh supporters to come over in big numbers to Hawkfield and get behind the team on Friday night. The match throws in at 7.45.
